Past Projects – Warm & Well Partnership

Warm West worked with the Warm & Well Partnership in South Gloucestershire during 2015/16. The partnership is managed by Severn Wye Energy Agency on behalf of the seven local authorities in Gloucestershire and offers energy efficiency advice to householders and also administers grant funding on behalf of the local authorities and other funders.

During 2015/16 the Warm & Well Partnership, accessing HHCRO funding, offered a range of energy efficiency improvements to qualifying households:

• Replacement boiler
• Cavity wall insulation
• Loft insulation
• External wall insulation
• New gas connection (Central Heating Fund)

“Since it kicked off in 2001, Warm and Well has installed more than 60,000 energy efficiency improvements in over 40,000 homes.”

Warm West worked alongside council energy and housing officers to promote the Warm Home Assistance Scheme and support householders, not on the gas network, to apply for gas connection vouchers. These vouchers could be used to fund (or part fund) the install of mains gas central heating systems in fuel poor homes that do not currently have central heating. Working with Wales & West Utilities we provided end to end support including, supporting applicants, assessing eligibility and co-ordinating works.

During our time working on the project we received and evaluated 101 applications and issued £63,371.76 in connection vouchers. These vouchers allowed 23 homes to join the gas network and receive a new central heating system; this greatly improved the energy efficiency of their property and reduced bills.

Our work on this partnership scheme was one of three major gas connection projects we undertook in the West of England. Read more about CozyDevon and our gas connection work in Cornwall.
